Family Drama with Dark Comedy Elements
This Korean drama is a type of family drama with romantic and dark comedy elements in it. Like most family-themed Korean dramas, you will see quite a lot of characters that support the excitement of the storyline.
Iron Family itself tells the story of a family that has been running a laundry business for three generations.
Lee Da Rim (Geum Sae Rok) is the youngest daughter of the family that owns Cheongryeom Laundry who suffers from a rare disease that narrows her vision.
On the other hand, Seo Kang Joo (Kim Jung Hyun), an executive director at Jiseung Group who belongs to the richest family in the Cheongryeom neighborhood but struggles to get approval from her father.
Unexpectedly, Lee Da Rim and Seo Kang Joo were involved in the past during their college days. And now, they are reunited with very different conditions.
On the other hand, Lee Da Rim wants to get surgery to improve his vision. However, because the cost is very expensive, he tried to hide it from his family.
The Anticipated Comeback of Actor Choi Tae Joon
Iron Family became the highly anticipated acting comeback of actor Choi Tae Joon.
Given that it has been quite a while since the actor appeared as one of the main actors after previously being a cameo for several Korean dramas such as The Midnight Studio (2024), Flex x Cop (2024), to Twenty-Five Twenty-One (2022).
Choi Tae Joon himself last appeared in a Korean drama as one of the main actors through The Undateables (2018) project.
Meanwhile, in Iron Family the actor plays Cha Tae Woong, a part-time worker at a laundry and becomes one of the members of Lee Da Rim’s (Keum Sae Rok) family.
Successfully Achieved Double-Digit Ratings
Not only presenting an interesting story and starring famous actors and actresses, Iron Family successfully scored double-digit ratings even in its first episode, you know.
Launching from Nielsen Korea, the latest episode of Iron Family which aired on Sunday, (6/10) scored a rating of more than 15%. This figure has increased after previously achieving a rating in the range of 14%.
