Gyeongseong Creature 2 is one of the latest Netflix original Korean dramas that was officially released on Friday, (9/27). Present in seven episodes at once, Gyeongseong Creature 2 is a continuation series of Gyeongseong Creature which was released in December 2023.
Featuring an acting collaboration as the lead between Han So Hee and Park Seo Joon, the first season of Gyeongseong Creature is set in 1945 and focuses on Jang Tae Sang (Park Seo Joon), one of the richest men in Gyeongseong (the name for Seoul in the past) as well as a ‘seller’ of accurate information.
In order to realize his mission, Jang Tae Sang made a deal with a tracker named Yoon Chae Ok (Han So Hee) and her father. Coincidentally, they visited Gyeongseong also to find the whereabouts of Yoon Chae Ok’s mother who had been missing for 10 years.
Unexpectedly, Jang Tae Sang and Yoon Chae Ok are faced with tension and horror with a mysterious monster hidden in Ongseong hospital and located in the Gyeongseong area.
The mysterious monster was created based on experiments involving najin parasites that were injected into the human body and turned them into terrible monsters.
The ending of Gyeongseong Creature tends to make viewers curious and guessing about the continuation of Jang Tae Sang and Yoon Chae Ok’s story.
Here we have summarized some of the highlights of the Netflix Korean drama Gyeongseong Creature 2.
Presenting the Setting in the Modern Era
If the first season of Gyeongseong Creature is set in 1945, Gyeongseong Creature 2 comes with a modern-day setting.
Yoon Chae Ok (Han So Hee) from 1945 returns with the same appearance, because at the end of the first season of Gyeongseong Creature her body was infected with a najin that makes humans strong like monsters and does not grow old.
In this modern era, Yoon Chae Ok still continues her profession as someone who specializes in finding missing people. She receives the nickname ‘Silver Pipit’ from people who use her skills.
Meanwhile, the presence of a man who looks like Jang Tae Sang but has a different name, Jang Ho Jae (Park Seo Joon), shocks Yoon Chae Ok.
Initially, she thought the man was Jang Tae Sang, but the man who claimed to be named Jang Ho Jae did not recognize her figure at all.
Mysterious Experiment Continues
If in the first season Gyeongseong Creature reveals the fact that there are mysterious experiments at Ongseong hospital, then the experiment still continues in the second season of Gyeongseong Creature. This time, the location is not in Ongseong hospital, but a company called Jeonsong Bio.
The company ‘tricked’ the new employees by naming the experiment as part of a test at the new company. In fact, they secretly conducted trials using najin by asking new employees to drink water with the parasite in it.
New Characters that Steal the Show
In Gyeongseong Creature 2 there is one new character who steals the show, Seung Jo (Bae Hyun Sung). Having a cruel and arbitrary personality, he was born from a human mother who had been infected with the najin parasite.
This makes Seung Jo have extraordinary strength and is able to destroy things that are considered to interfere with his plans. In this second season, Seung Jo’s character successfully presents tension because he is eyeing the figures of Yoon Chae Ok and Jang Hae Jo.
Those are some of the things that stole the show in the Korean drama Gyeongseong Creature 2. Interested in watching it?
