The new Korean drama, Gangnam B-Side is a crime drama about a detective, a prosecutor, and a mysterious broker, who each follow different clues to find Jae Hee, the missing club hero.

Ji Chang Wook plays Yoon Gil Ho, a mysterious broker and lawless figure in Gangnam. His presence as a broker attracted attention from the moment he appeared.
Yoon Gil Ho survives alone in the dark alleys of the bustling city, and exudes a cold tension with the blank expression of his piercing gaze.
Ji Chang Wook makes his character iconic with a striking appearance that includes long hair, a fur jacket, and flashy accessories. The scars on his face are very visible, and add depth to his role.
Launching Soompi, Ji Chang Wook shared his experience while filming, he admitted that he always spent a lot of time applying makeup to his scars. He said, “although hairstyle, clothes, earrings, and tattoos are important, the most crucial aspect is the scars on my face.”
He also mentioned that Yoon Gil Ho rarely has a clean face, which suggests that the scars are visible evidence of what kind of life the character has lived.
According to Ji Chang Wook, it adds to the fascination of Yoon Gil Ho’s hidden background and the daily challenges he faces.
Ji Chang Wook described Yoon Gil Ho as someone with clear boundaries between his people and those who are not. He emphasized the importance of showing the character’s relationship with others.
“This character expresses himself more through his gaze and actions than through dialog, so I focused more on my movements in each scene,” Ji Chang Wook said.
Jo Woo Jin, who re-teamed with Ji Chang Wook after their last project, praised him, saying, “To me, he looks better than ever.”
He added, “Viewers will see Ji Chang Wook ‘s broader charm,” which increased fans’ enthusiasm for Gangnam B-Side.
