For those of you who don’t know, the sageuk genre in Korean drama series and films usually features stories set in the South Korean kingdom in ancient times, and there are historical elements in it.

1. Kim You Jung


Starting her career as a child actress, Kim You Jung, who is now 25 years old, is one of the actresses who often appears in Korean sageuk dramas.

Speaking of Korean actresses who often play in sageuk Korean dramas, Lee Se Young’s name certainly cannot be absent from the list. Yup, this 31-year-old woman is quite often in sageuk Korean dramas, even when she was still a child actress.

You can watch Lee Se Young ‘s appearance in sageuk dramas starting from Jewel in the Palace (2003), The Crowned Clown (2019), The Red Sleeve (2021), and The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract (2023).

4. Lee Young Ae


As one of South Korea’s veteran actresses, Lee Young Ae’s name began to skyrocket after starring in the sageuk Korean drama Jewel in the Palace which was released in 2003. However, she also starred in other sageuk series such as West Palace (1995) and Saimdang, Memoir of Colors (2017).

The good news is that Lee Young Ae will return to star in the sageuk Korean drama while continuing the Jewel in the Palace series, Uinyeo Dae Jang Geum in 2025.
